It’s all about me, Me, ME! by Angelica Miles (as told to Lorna Barrett)

I’ve been asked: “What’s it like to be Angelica Miles?”

Oh my, should I be modest or sing my own praises?

Do you even need to ask that question?

Life is sweet. Since I arrived in Stoneham, New Hampshire, a mere two and a half years ago, my life has changed considerably. I was a miserable, about-to-be divorced woman. Incredibly attractive, sexy, but sadly unhappy at the events that led me to visit my rather despondent, younger sister (although she didn’t know it at the time), who’d just opened a mystery bookstore.

A mystery bookstore–of all things!

Tricia’s neighbor was killed, leaving behind a cookbook store. What an opportunity! Of course, I snapped it up. I mean, after all, I was born to cook! And then it was just a natural that I’d open a lovely little retro café. And now I’m a nationally bestselling cookbook author.

In other words, I’m a supreme success! (Didn’t Susan B. Anthony say that “failure was impossible?” Well, it sure has been for me.)

The Sheer Comfort Inn is about to open in Stoneham. The village is in dire need of lovely accommodation and I’ve won the Chamber of Commerce raffle to spend a night of luxury in the third-floor master suite during their shakedown before they open next week. And I’ve got a secret that has to do with the inn that I haven’t even revealed to dear Tricia. After all, what’s a secret if you share it with others?

So, I’m off to pack. Just a few outfits. No doubt Tricia will chide me about packing too much, but a woman must be prepared for any situation–and since Stoneham is no longer the safest village in New Hampshire, well … just about anything can happen!

Tricia Miles’ stay at a B&B turns into a nightmare and she’s drawn into a web of deceit, duplicity, and even murder. Lorna Barrett’s MURDER ON THE HALF SHELF, #6 in the Booktown Mystery series and debuting on July 3rd, is the perfect book to download on your e-reader or pack in your suitcase for a great summer read.

** Thanks to the Lorna, I have one (1) Haven’t Got A Clue coffee mug to give away. Contest open to residents of the US only. Contest ends July 15. Leave a valid-email address with your comment. Mug will be shipped directly from the author. **

    Dru,

Since it seems to me most of the time that “I haven’t got a clue”, it would be fun to win this mug! I hven’t read this series by Lorna, but I have read her Victoria Square ones,. Now I will need to give these a try. Thanks for always teaching me about new series and for having such great giveaways and prizes!

    Have a great day!

I absolutely love the book and I love Angelica. She’s such a self-absorbed big sister with a very occasional glimpse of real love and concern, at least for her sister.
There’s much more there than meets the eye!

  10. So glad so many people enjoy the series, or are willing to give it a try. Lori, I had a limited number of the mugs made up. My publisher doesn’t allow me to sell them, which is why I give them away in contests. There will be another contest in the future with a mug as a prize. Stay turned.

The first day I walked into Haven’t Got a Clue I didn’t want to leave. Tricia was off dutifully answering Angelica’s beckoning. So Miss Marple, Ginny and sweet Mr. Everett made me feel at home. Mr. Everett poured me a steaming hot cup of coffee and handed it to me as I browsed among the rare mystery books. I was tempted to stash the Haven’t Got a Clue mug away in my purse. But I didn’t want Tricia to spend her time solving the “Case of the Missing Coffee Mug”. She has way too many murders in Stoneham to solve!

I still am eager to have a mug of my own. If not, well, I have the books of Lorna Barrett to keep me happy in Stoneham, NH. Booktown Mysteries is a delightful series with adventures that stay with the reader.

  25. This series is so much fun! 🙂 I loved getting to know the characters (and relating to Tricia, as I have a sister VERY similar to Angelica!) I just got the newest edition to the series and cannot wait to read it. This mug would be a great way to start my mornings, and also a great way to promote the book series to my friends! I look forward to many more books to come. Marie H. songbird1613@yahoo.com

  26. I ordered the newest book for our library with the intentions of being the first one to read it. While I was getting it ready for the shelf, a couple of patrons came in and wanted it. I let it get checked out…and now it has a waiting list a mile long. On the plus side, now that they’ve read the new book, they are going back and reading the others in the series.

I’ve read two of the books in the series. I have a gray cat who probably looks a lot like Miss Marple. A coffee mug would be great. I have seen them before.
